Retirement Gifts

At the school that I work at, a few lovely people are retiring and I wanted to craft them some small gifts to them. A collage of pictures of them throughout the years on their initials made out wood.

The Wizard of Oz inspired figurine in a displace case using all around the little iconic images trimming around the bottom of the glass, given to a very close friend of the family. Used clay to modify the figurine and painted over while the little images I used shrinky dinks!

Christmas gift to my mother

A gift to my mother. She loves small houses decorating around the edge of her kitchen. So I created a Christmas decorated door to hang on her wall. I had to create the accessories out of clay and fake floral accents, and paint the piece it all sets on.

AAU first Semester End

For my Final week, I had to create a composition using items that I owned and use black and white charcoal on gray toned paper.
one is a simple dunny for the exercise and the other was toy theme (inspired by the holiday).

Practice

So before doing the self portrait we had to try to do some studies in the facial features and the different planes the face can have.

selfie

its not a duckface selfie, more like im trying to figure out why the tablet remote isnt syncing with the camera trying to take the picture. We had to of course make a self portrait of ourselves in charcoal and create the values theories we've been studying. I still think its hard doing a self portrait mostly because the more involved I get, I want to put every pore and marks I see the same way in the picture!

Shapes and drape

6th week in and I have done your basic shapes and I had to tackle drapery, possibly one of the most difficult things I've experienced so far. There are some things I know that are wrong, but I'm pretty happy with the results

week4

Fourth week and this is what I have done in charcoal!
had to choose 3 close to white items to draw and render. I'm really happy with the results of the teacup!
